As you might already know, PredicSis.ai is sold on the AWS Marketplace. For software developers like us it is a great place to sell our product. What's more, it is very easy for our customers to launch it. Within a few minutes the service is up and running, ready to analyse their data.
But, and it is a big but: once you start onboarding your first customers, it becomes clear that you will have a hard time tracking your sales. Why? because AWS Marketplace's default reporting is only available through CSV files 😱. It is cumbersome to understand the generated sales and to keep an eye on the metrics like subscribers’ activity.
Every software vendor on the marketplace that we know has had no choice but to develop an internal solution to process these CSVs… We have had to do the same thing! Initially we built a simple tool to automatically process all the relevant CVSs every night and load them into an SQL database. Having the data in a requestable format we used Metabase to visualise it and then created a beautiful dashboard to track our main KPIs (revenues, instances launches and stops…). We basically built a Business Intelligence service for the AWS Marketplace.
I’m pleased to announce that we’ve decided to share this service publicly 🎉. We have named it Kalytics.
